This module allows setting up and managing workflows.Workflows are a series of service types, customized to fit specific production, invoicing and shipping processes and connected in order to automate the business’s activities. Grouping the services into workflows facilitates and simplifies the processing of JO’s, SO’s and PQ’s.

The workflow mechanism allows the user to immediately select a workflow and allocate the workflows’ services to a Job Order (JO) with a single click, instead of having to allocate all services one at a time. Each workflow has a set duration, which is calculated by PIRO Fusion based on the duration of the services that are assigned to the workflow. Based on the workflow’s duration, PIRO Fusion is able to calculate specific deadlines, such as a JO’s estimated finishing date.
Existing workflows can be edited or expanded with new services. The workflow items (services) are based on the service types assigned to the workflows. When a service is assigned to a workflow and becomes a workflow item, the service type’s settings can be customized separately for each workflow: e.g. the workflow service timing can be changed and set up to apply only when used in that particular workflow. As such, the same service may work differently within different workflows.
Workflow related admin settings
There are a number of workflows related admin settings which allow for further system flexibility. Under System Preferences, a default workflow may be specified which will then automatically be loaded on JO, SO, PQ detail forms by default. The Generate separate JO’s for each item type workflow on JO setting can be used to automatically generate separate job orders for each distinct workflow assigned to the job item’s item type. The Compose job order workflow from the item components workflow setting can be used automatically create new workflows for each job item, in case the production process varies often for each item type.
Filters
Searching for specfific workflows can be done through the Filters panel and using any of the available filters based on the search criteria.
The following filters may be used:
- Name: filters based on the name of the workflow. Partial matches are accepted.
- Code: filters based on the workflow code.
