This tool is used to set up and manage the shipping methods used by the company to ship products. The settings set up here are used for the Shipping label management module and for calculating the shipping costs on price quotes and job orders.

The Shipping methods module is made up of two tabs: Shipping methods and Shipping providers.

Shipping methods make it possible to generate shipping labels and to calculate the shipping price on various forms, such as on the JO’s Additional info form. A shipping provider must be defined first in order to set up a shipping method.

New shipping methods can be added using the Create new button or the icon. Existing shipping methods can be edited using the icon.

When adding a shipping method, the following information can be specified:

1. Name: specifies the name of the shipping method. This name is then displayed when selecting a shipping method while generating shipping labels.
2. Short name: specifies the shipping method’s short name, if any.
3. Provider: specifies the shipping provider associated with the shipping method. Multiple shipping methods can be created for the same shipping provider. Shipping providers can be managed from the Shipping providers tab.
4. Code: specifies the unique code used to identify the shipping method.
5. Service type: specifies the service type used to send the shipment, from the available service types set up for the selected shipping provider. This service will be selected automatically when creating shipping labels using this shipping method.
6. Packaging type: specifies the selected packaging type used to send the shipment, from the packaging types set up for the selected shipping provider. This packaging type will be selected automatically when creating shipping labels using this shipping method.
7. Dropoff type: specifies the dropoff type used to deliver the shipment, from the dropoff types set up for the selected shipping provider. This drop-off type will be selected automatically when creating shipping labels using this shipping method.
8. Rate calculated: specifies the manner in which the shipping rate is calculated. Two options are available:
   1. Per value: the shipping rate is calculated depending on the price of the shipment. The Rate type and the Rate fields are made available when selecting this option. One of the available settings under the Rate type drop-down must be selected:
      1. Fixed rate: the shipment rate always has the same value (i.e. $20), regardless of weight or declared value. The shipping rate Rate is expressed in dollars ($).
      2. Procentual rate: the shipment rate is calculated as a percentage of the job order’s value (i.e. if 10% is specified and the job order is worth $100 then the shipping price is $10). The shipping rate Rate is expressed in dollars ($).
      3. Fixed + Value Procentual rate: a mix of the above settings, useful when a percentage value is typically used but a fixed minimum price is also required. If the calculated percentage is lower than the specified fixed price, then the fixed price is used. Otherwise the percentage value is used. The shipping rate Rate is expressed in dollars ($).
   2. Per Weight: the shipping rate is calculated based on the package weight, and not the package value.The Rate type, Measure unit and Unit weight fields become available when using this option. One of the available settings from the Rate type drop-down must be selected:
      1. Package shipping cost: specifies the measure unit in which the package weight is expressed (typically lbs or kgs)
      2. Predefined per weight unit pricing: specifies the shipping rate per a single measure unit; the shipping price calculation formula is rate * unit weight * weight per measure unit.
9. Needs package size: if checked, the following information must be specified before being able to send a shipment:
   1. Package height
   2. Package width
   3. Package length
10. Default shipping method: if checked, this shipping method is used by default when creating new job orders.
11. Print label: if checked, the shipping label printed automatically once it is sent.
12. Allow Saturday delivery: Iif checked, Saturday delivery can be used while generating shipping labels using this method.
