Pure metals are used as raw material for casting alloys and they do not (intentionally) contain any other material. In PIRO Fusion they are treated almost the same way as alloys, meaning both of them are considered as raw materials for master alloys. The tracking of the metal types’ market price is based on the metal types defined in this Pure metals form. Under Price management we track the prices of the four main metal type (Gold, Palladium, Platinum and Silver), this is an essential part of PIRO Fusion.
Viewing pure metals
On the Pure metals subtab the pure metals added to PIRO Fusion will be displayed in alphabetical order. The columns of the list show the following information:
- Name: Displays the name of the pure metal.
- Code: Displays the unique code that identifies the pure metal in the system.
- Def. labor price: It displays how much it will be charged for the labor required by the pure metal.
- Wax weight multiplier: It displays the multiplier factor that will be used by PIRO Fusion to convert the wax weight into the weight of a particular metal type. In the Casting tree menu the metal weight used on a particular casting tree will be estimated based on this multiplier.
- Description: Displays the description added to the metal on the Pure metal details form.
- Linked item type: Displays the name of the item type corresponding to a particular metal under Item types management.
Adding/editing a pure metal
If you add (with the Create new button under the item type’s grid or icon) or copy (with the Copy button or
icon – the Copy button is available only when a casting alloy is selected) or edit (with the
icon) a pure metal, the Pure metal details form will open.
The following basic properties of the metal type can be defined on this form:
- Name: The name of the pure metal can be entered in this field.
- Code: The unique code that identifies the pure metal in the system can be entered in this field. The code of basic metal types (Gold, Platinum, Palladium and Silver) cannot be changed.
- Wax weight multiplier: It displays the multiplicator that will be used by PIRO Fusion to convert the wax weight into the weight of a particular metal type. In the casting tree management menu the metal weight used on a particular casting tree will be estimated based on this multiplier.
- Weight: The weight of the pure metal can be specified in this field.
- Default labor price: The default price of the labor required by the pure metal can be specified in this field.
- Density: The density of the metal can be specified in this field.
- Description: A custom description can be added to the pure metal in this text field.
