What is it used for?
In the Metal types tab the user might create a virtual counterpart of the pure metals, casting alloys and alloys that are used in production. The metal types created in this module can be then tracked throughout the entire production and sales process using other functionalities of PIRO Fusion.
Metal type management is handled separately from the management of other item types (under the Item types tab) in PIRO Fusion, as they are treated as a special kind of item type, and there are some specific properties related only to metals that have to be specified. Among others, when a metal type is created the user might have to specify its components and the ratios applied to mix this particular target metal, contrary to the rest of the items which don’t require specifying such properties.
However, when a metal type is added in the Metal type tab, a corresponding item type is automatically created in the Item type tab as well, which guarantees that the general settings available for item types can also be applied to metals.
Metal types are divided into three groups in PIRO Fusion and a separate tab is assigned to each of them:
- Casting alloys
- Pure metals
- Alloys
Below we will describe each of these three tabs in detail and we will also discuss the filter functionality on this form.
The expandable filter panel can be used to search for casting alloys, pure metals and alloys respectively. It has to be noted that only the active tab will be filtered.
The following filter is available:
- Name: Use this filter to search for casting alloys, pure metals, and alloys based on their name. You might type in only a few characters of the name as results that partially match the filter content will also be shown in the list.
You can perform the search with the Apply button and reset the values in the filters with the Reset button.
